I've bought three houses in my life. Each one came with the cheapest contractor-grade appliances you could get. In each case, I replaced them all while I owned the house just to get something nicer.

I've replaced three cheap dishwashers with nicer ones (2 Whirlpools, 1 Maytag) that have never had a problem.

I've replaced two cheap refrigerators with nicer ones (both Kenmore), and still have the contractor fridge in my current house. Had to repair one of the Kenmores (can't remember the part, but it was cheap).

I bought a gas dryer that I used for my first two houses. Kenmore I think. Had to replace a $15 relay on it once. Still worked fine after 20 years but my current house doesn't have gas. I bought a used electric dryer for $50. Belt on it broke once, but I replaced that too.

Washer is a 40 year old Maytag. I have replaced the timer and a check valve on it over the years, but it still runs well.

I did have a Whirlpool microwave die after 2-3 years. It was irreparable and I replaced it.

I replaced three contractor stoves with three smoothtop stoves. One burner died on a GE stove once, but that was a $75 fix.

Only things I can recall irreparably dying on me were an original water heater that was 25 yrs old, and the microwave I mentioned.
